Hector's aunt made these to serve at our wedding. It's the only recipe I own that uses pure lard - but the cookie is so delicious as it is, I wouldn't dream of changing it. I like to cut them into different sizes of star shapes - they make a delicious finish on a Mexican buffet.

It's the ideal cookie for gift-giving!
