Oh my..I am so sorry for the familia..I only met Cynthia a few times, but felt she was a gran lady to know. Loved her cookbooks, tea room...I know she was ready to meet her Savior..Prayers to all.
My condolences to the entire family and the staff of Peach Tree. I recently visited Fredricksburg for the first time in November 2011 and searched for a tea room in the city and found the Peach Tree. My husband and I really enjoyed our Sunday lunch and I was very impressed with the story of how the family business came about. Not knowing that Mrs. Cynthia was ill, I asked our waitress if she was in the tearoom that day and was informed about her illness. I was sad that she was ill and was hoping to meet her because I too like to cook but became ill and almost lost my life almost 2 years ago. But the good Lord has taken care of me and gave me the strength to enjoy the things I love to do. And one thing was to go on a weekend trip from Dallas to Fredericksburg finally! I was hoping to meet Cynthia so that I could have my picture made wth her and have her autograph one of the cookbooks I purchased that day in the store. But I noticed all books are already autographed. I am hoping to go back very soon and visit the tearoom again and purchase another cookbook.
May Cynthia rest in peace and know that she brought joy to many people in her life in her cooking and hospitality.
Dear Hector and family, I was so saddened to hear of Cynthia's passing. My family has been enjoying The Peach Tree for over 15 years. It was the first place we booked reservations for every trip to FBG. We haved lived in FBG for the last 4 years and enjoy our ability to eat there regularly. My daughter met Cynthia a couple of years ago at the restaurant and said to her" Thank You so Much For Sharing your Cooking With Us". Fredericksburg as a city I am sure mourns her passing. You could feel her Love through her food. Travel well Cynthia!!!!
Thanks,
Sandy Presley
Dear Pedregon Family,
My husband Jerry and I send our sincere condolences to you in the loss of your dear wife, mother, and grandmother Cynthia. Dining in your family's restaurant has long been a highlight of our visits to Fredericksberg and we have collected and used every single one of Cynthia's fabulous cookbooks. We know that your deep faith and love of God will be a great comfort to each of you along with the many wonderful memories that have been made by your family.
May God bless,
Kitty Brown (Briannas Salad Dressings)
I am so saddened to hear of Cynthias passing. I have a trip with my besties planned for Feb 16 thru 19 and we are planning a visit to The Peach Tree. God Bless you all during this difficult time.
I can feel the sadness in your hearts all the way up in Minnesota. We met Hector and Carlos years ago on a fun and exciting Dog Sled Trip in Minnesota. Years later we visited Fredricksburg, and the Peach Tree, and had the honor of meeting Cynthia and Tina. The love that Hector and Cynthia shared shown not only in their eyes, but in the way it enveloped the entire Peach Tree Restaurant and the food that was prepared. We pray that her strong faith in our Lord, as well as your own faith, brings comfort to all of the Pedregon family. Death is not easy but your memories are beautiful and numerous. I will think of you all as I frequent my favorite cookbooks....the ones Cynthia put together from her heart and soul. Hugs from Minnesota - Ross and Christy Mickelson
I am so sorry to hear of Cynthia's passing. My husband and I visited The Peach Tree several times when we were first married. It has been many years since we have been back though. However, I love Cynthia's cookbooks and they continue to be some of my favorite gifts to share with people. What a joy and blessing she was to others. I also had a kindred heart with her, my son also died, so cooking her recipes gave me great comfort, as we were bonded together in a sisterhood we did not choose to join. My prayers are with your family. May God's loving arms hold you and comfort you in your times of sorrow. Blessings, Beth Potter
I just found this site and am broken hearted for those who were surrounded by her love. But she is home and in the company of the Magnificent Lord. I remember the first time I met her as I was pedaling my art in the 80-90's 's with my son helping me...she was so kind and carried my art which was a HUGE encouragement to me. Her art, the cookbooks still lay on my kitchen island, a bit dirty from food preparations in making soups.....and .playing with her ingredients making healthy food! I couldn't find my cookbook #1 one day and panicked at the thought of not having it....my children also own the cookbooks.....it is a family thing. She, your whole family have touched so many with the fragrance of His grace and love ..... that is an eternal thing for us all and it is not forgotten. I must come there and eat again soon! I know the traditions she and your Dad have ingrained in your family will continue to touch lives with their talents and hard work.....what she gave carries on. .May Jesus pour His Love and Care and Protection on you all and Bless you with His comfort for the days to come ....there is no other place like that which your family has made a place for others to experience and taste!
