Apricot Fried Pies - Mmm Good!
"When I was growing up in the tiny town of Medina, Texas, there was the most wonderful little cafe owned by Mrs. Fee. She served a delicious lunch each day -- something like meat loaf, potatoes, vegetables, homemade bread and pie for 75 cents. Sometimes she made apricot fried pies in the mornings. I can still remember the contentment I felt each time I captured one to eat. Since that time I've tried to duplicate it just as I remember. It's a rare treat for me now to indulge in a real fried pie -- and maybe the rarity is what keeps them special for me."

When I heard on the gardening show on KTSA that you were serving apricot fried pies, I thought that you remembered Mrs. Fee's pies. She used to save one for me so that I could eat it after school. I'm glad you are carrying on her tradition. Those were great days in Medina, and we had a great class.
